Revelations NEW book Kickstarter!!!

It's that time of the year again... apparently.

Time for our annual Personal Passion Project Push.
Last year it was a Solo Art Exhibition; "Mindset Vertical" with over 40 paintings from our very own artist Jerrell Conner.
This year it's the next installment in the Revelations Graphic Novel Series; "Revelations: Chapter 4".

Again we are venturing out on the creative fundraising site Kickstarter, and we've JUST launched the project today (mere minutes ago).

"90 Days of Summer" Starts NOW! Summer is officially here, and since recently having to relocate our entire inventory of graphic novels, art books, and art work, we've realized we have a GREAT abundance of much of it. So, we will be literally giving away over 100 books, art prints, posters, etc. this summer* [6/20-9/21]
Here's how to get yours:
• 1. CHECK OUT NEW ONLINE COMIC/MOBILE APP! We just launched chapter I of Revelations book I online for $1. If you like the first chapter and want more we will ship the printed version of book I (the first 3 chapters) for FREE (see image below for details**)
• 2. HELP US SPREAD THE WORD by posting about The Red R on your page, 'liking' us on our FanPage, and 'sharing' posts we'll ship a package out to you for FREE (just cover the shipping)
• 3. Follow us on Twitter we'll be attending/hosting many events and if you come to one of the events and spot someone with a 'Red ®' shirt ask them for your FREE swag and it's yours (just look for "90 Days of Summer" tweets for more info)

The Solo Exhibition 'Mindset Vertical' for our artist Jerrell Conner is one week from TODAY.

Many of you may remember it from a couple months back when it was just a wee sparkle in the eye of kickstarter.com... it has gone through so many twists and turns since then, but now is FINALLY here as an EPIC Solo Exhibition!

SYNOPSIS:
Mindset Vertical is the first Solo Exhibition in over 5 years from comic book artist/illustrator/animator Jerrell Conner. This show is a Portrait/Character Study Series of over 40 NEW original pieces that explore different backgrounds, beliefs, and thoughts of the diverse group of people featured in the show ranging from characters from his Science Fiction Graphic Novel to real life everyday people. Its aim is to spark a dialog about people and their journey in life through sharing testimonies, and also to enable a platform for discussion, reflection, and interaction.

The show also doubles as a fundraiser for the artist's next Graphic Novel 'Revelations: Book Two'. There is no cover to attend the show, but donations, support, and spreading the word about the event would be much appreciated. There will be raffles, auctions, free refreshments, entertainment, and gift bag giveaways at the door for the first 25 people in attendance.

The show also triples as the artist's birthday celebration (which is just two days prior to the event). So, since so much effort, work, and resources are being poured into this show, instead of planning an additional birthday event for friends and family, all are welcomed to come, celebrate, and support through attending this sole GALA event.

Prelim Show Progress + How to get involved and support the show!

Hello everyone!
Here is a quick preview of some of the portraits thus far, via these super super rough sketches. The show is less than 4 weeks away and everything is progressing well, but there's so much still left to do! We'll probably only do one more update right before the actual show date... So, stay tuned.

Also, one last reminder to any backers that have not backed yet, but are still going to. Although, we'll be accepting any support all the way up to the show date on January 14th (in the form of Paypal, checks sent to our PO Box, or donations and art sales on the actual day of the show), the cutoff for backers who want CUSTOM art created for them that will be featured in the show is this Saturday the 24th. Thank you in advance for whatever support you feel led to give!

Solo Exhibition for artist Jerrell Conner 01.14.2012

The show is called Mindset Vertical. It features the art work of Illustrator Jerrell Conner the creator of the Revelations book series. The event is portrait/character study series that explores different backgrounds, beliefs, and thoughts of the diverse people featured in the show, including some of his Revelations characters. You might recognize some of the faces… heck, you might even be one of the faces!

This is Jerrell's first solo show in over 5 years. It also doubles as a fundraiser to help Kickstart work on his next book in the Revelations series. Donations will be accepted, but the show is free and there will be refreshments, giveaways, raffles, and tons to do since it will be part of the East Village 2nd Saturday Art Walk in Downtown Long Beach.
Also Also, it doubles as the artists birthday party (which is just 2 days prior to the show). So, for all of you that want to do something nice for the artist on his special day, buy an art piece, raffle tickets, or donate to fund the new book project.
